Autumn 2025 Product & Tech Highlights

Product Launches

  • Active Savings Account Expansion: Now available to open via the HL app with enhanced functionality and information. HL employees can now also contribute to Active Savings directly through payroll. Since our “Open Savings Products by App” launch in August, over 1,553 savings products have been opened via the app, totalling £30.9 million.

  • Digital Junior SIPP Opening Journey: As of 4 September, members can now open a Junior SIPP directly on the website – previously only possible via manual forms. This change led to a record-breaking number of JSIPP openings in September.
  • Full Product Suite Online: HL now offers its main range of adult and junior products – including SIPP, ISA, LISA, Fund & Share, Active Savings, JISA, and JSIPP – on both the website and mobile app. Moving us one step closer to our aim of having all products available to open on both web and mobile app.

Tech Developments

  • HL App Redesign: A new look and improved experience are rolling out, starting with the Portfolio page. This update promises faster feature delivery and better engineering efficiency. This new design lays the foundation for a more personalised and streamlined mobile journey giving members quicker access to key features and setting the tone for what’s to come.
  • Unified Technology Stack: HL is transitioning to React Native for mobile and React for web, streamlining development and accelerating feature releases across platforms.
  • Enhanced Fund Search & Filtering: Improvements to app-based tools will help members discover investments aligned with their goals and experience levels.

These updates mark a significant step forward in our mission to deliver smarter, faster, and more accessible financial solutions. From expanding our product suite to refining the HL app experience, each development is designed to empower our members and streamline their journey. As we head into the final months of the year, we remain focused on innovation, efficiency, and delivering value across every platform and product.
