How it works

At HL Workplace, we’ve measured our pension members' level of engagement across seven metrics at a scheme, sector and provider level for more than six years. We use these insights to drive change for our members. We carefully design communications and provide in-person guidance to support and encourage increasing engagement with their retirement savings. We know that members that engage with their pension are more likely to have a positive outcome in the future.

  • 28% of HL Workplace members have nominated a death benefit beneficiary.
  • More than two thirds manage their pension online – of these, over 75% log in to their accounts at least every 12 months.
  • 23% have transferred an old pension over to HL to consolidate their pension pots.
